Join us for a community walk starting from Guildford High Street. If you’re coming by train, Guildford Station is just a short walk from the meeting point.

Walk Route
We’ll begin in Guildford town centre before heading out along the River Wey, moving through Shalford Park and onto quieter riverside paths. From there, the route follows the edge of Chantry Wood, continuing alongside the River Tillingbourne.
We’ll then join the Mile Path, climbing gently towards Pewley Down. From Pewley Hill, we’ll make our way back into the town centre, finishing together at Frida’s Coffee House for coffee, conversation, and an easy onward journey for those heading to the station.
The route blends town, river, meadow, woodland, and hill paths — offering variety without needing to travel far.
Schedule
09:30 – 10:00
Meet at the bottom of Guildford High Street (Surrey Scholar statue). Introductions, meet fellow walkers, and a short welcome from Rory.
10:00 – 10:20
Route briefing, safety notes, pace expectations, and points of interest.
10:20 – 11:20
Riverside walk via the River Wey and Shalford Park. Relaxed pace with open views and time to chat.
11:20 – 11:50
Following the river past Chantry Wood, with a gentle climb and woodland surroundings.
11:50 – 12:30
Mile Path and Pewley Down, before descending back into town.
12:30 onwards
Finish at Frida’s Coffee House for coffee and conversation.
