Farnham Folklore Society PRESENTs: Corn dolly making with two crooked ladies
All the way from Dorset Kitty and Rebecca or The Two Crooked ladies will be hosting a beginners’ workshop in the ancient and endangered craft of corn dolly making.
About the Two Crooked Ladies
Kitty and Rebecca, or Two Crooked Ladies, are a queer disabled couple who love rural crafts, traditions and folklore. They began a corn dolly apprenticeship with the wonderful Corn Dollies by Sally in 2024, and with the help of her teaching have now begun to share and teach this red listed craft, to help ensure that it’s kept alive. They’re passionate about folk traditions, and learning from them have begun to create original designs and wearable pieces in the hopes to bring this once popular craft to a wider audience.
Brought to you as part of the Folk Around & Find Out exhibition programme.
