Textile’s Workshop with Cherish Chirume for IWD

  • New House Art Space Fays Passage GU1 4SQ (map)

Join us for a hands-on textile workshop where you'll create a print that reflects your personal story of joy and resilience, exploring the balance between life’s highs and lows. Using fabric pens, you'll design your own unique prints on tote bags, blending a variety of mediums to create visually rich textiles that tell your story. It's a chance to tap into your creativity and celebrate your journey through art

We are excited to present ‘Accelerating Her Story: Prints that Empower’, a captivating and immersive exhibition by Cherish Chirume, a talented Peckham-based artist and entrepreneur. Coinciding with International Women’s Day, this exhibition, which runs throughout March, delves into the rich intersection of African culture, textiles, and storytelling, while celebrating the empowering journey of women in business and the arts.

Cherish Chirume, founder of Stories We Cherish, is dedicated to promoting African culture, challenging stereotypes, and fostering cultural exchange. The exhibition will showcase her innovative creative practice, combining textile prints, photography, animation, and immersive installations to share the transformative journey of Cherish as both an entrepreneur and cultural ambassador.
