LUNETTE ZACHary
Painting is cathartic
Painting is a pleasing, rewarding performative experience
The way I apply materials, using fingers and palette knives, stimulates immediacy. “Energy in motion during, before or after” a situation imag/in/ed.
Lunette is a painter from Surrey. Through an array of painting mediums she explores how near-death trauma can clear the lenses through which life is viewed. Resurrection plays a crucial role in her ongoing investigations of both important and seemingly insignificant chaos in daily life. These explorations emerge from a complex interplay of collective courage and fear, as well as a preoccupation with personal strengths and vulnerabilities.
A departure from exact rendering has led Lunette to develop a stylistic approach that embraces experimentation and avant-garde sensibilities. Symbolically, her work delves into themes that examine the conscious act of "living," reinforcing a sense of vitality and existence in the face of mortality.
