‘Global change’ by Anne Elise-Angas
21 x 29cm
Woven in response to global warming. This tapestry was an experiment with different woven techniques and textural qualities to create an aging effect. The text of the newspaper article is peeling away and ripping the soft textural rayon to leave a flat, shadow of the pattern. Black and charcoal wool and linen are tightly woven to represent scorched wood, whilst the whole tapestry is framed with woven paper yarn.
